Every time you go to see your doctor he or she takes your blood pressure.
For most people it is just a routine procedure and nothing to worry about.
Then there are many people who suffer from “white coat syndrome”. I am one of these. When I see a doctor coming or sit down at one of the blood pressure machine at the drugstore, my blood pressure levels go up on their own.
This is a common problem: a full 10-15% of people diagnosed with high blood pressure after measurements taken at a hospital or medical facility, later find that measurements taken in their own home or averaged over 24 hours are normal.~Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt, MD
Then if your doctor is not on the ground floor and you walk up a few flights of stairs, that will also lead to elevated blood pressure. But I don’t like to take the elevator, climbing stairs is great exercise.
Here are some ideas to lower your blood pressure
- Cure the Western disease
- To salt or not to salt
- Other things which increase blood pressure
- Avoid deficiency of omega-3 fats or vitamin D
